The glass is half full not half empty
Was the glass full first and half poured out? That means you’ve lost half the contents. And if it was an empty glass to start with and was filled half way, then, well it’s still half-empty isn’t it now?
Besides, I don’t use glasses. What if I drop it and it breaks? Broken glass everywhere. I could step on a piece and cut myself badly. Then there would be blood on the floor. I suppose I’m the one who has to clean that up. And I could get an infection. Who knows what that could lead to? As the guy in The Graduate said, “Plastics”. Of course plastic is made from petroleum products. And with oil prices the way they are, well, it’ll start costing a lot more for safe drinking receptacles. I’m not made out of money, you know. Besides, my water might start getting metered. If that happens I might be forced to use less and drink less (and yes I always boil my water, though using a hot stove brings up its own set of problems, but no time to get into that now). And if I start drinking less water, well, I could get seriously dehydrated. I could end up fainting, hit my head on the edge of the counter, pass out, bleed to death. The possibilities are endless.
Glass half-full. Give me a break.
